Attorney Thomas B. Dance, Esquire


Thomas B. Dance is an experienced litigator and trial counsel and is a member of Dance & Waldman, PLLC.  His practice areas include divorce and family law, business planning and incorporation, and criminal and traffic defense.  A native of Virginia, Mr. Dance attended the University of Virginia and graduated in 2002 with bachelor's degrees in both Economics and International Relations. While studying at the University, he interned for a local family law attorney and was active in coed athletics and competed in amateur power-lifting tournaments. Mr. Dance applies his competitive drive and dedication to achieving results to his practice of law and to your case.

In 2014, Mr. Dance received his first recognition as a Rising Star in Virginia Super Lawyers magazine, an honor that is only given to the top 2.5% of attorneys in Virginia who meet certain criteria. Most notably, Mr. Dance was one of only two family law attorneys that practices family law in the Fredericksburg area to receive this recognition in 2014.  Mr. Dance has appeared in Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.  Mr. Dance was selected to the National Advocates Top 100 Matrimonial and Family Lawyers in 2014, 2015 and 2017, and has been recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 for 2017.

Attorney Barry J. Waldman, Esquire


Barry Waldman is a member of Dance & Waldman, PLLC. Mr. Waldman was the Son of a Navy family and was born at the Keflavik Naval Air Station, Keflavik, Iceland. His family moved soon thereafter to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where Mr. Waldman grew up and graduated from Princess Anne High School.

Barry attended the University of Virginia and graduated in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Urban Planning. Mr. Waldman was active in the Inter-Fraternity Council, was an editorialist for a college newspaper, and a morning drive-time DJ for a radio station.

Upon graduation Mr. Waldman worked as an account representative for a major textile manufacturer, serving clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Under Mr. Waldman's management, sales grew in his territory by over 400%.

Mr. Waldman attended law school at the University of Richmond School of Law in Richmond, Virginia. While there, he served as President of the school's chapter of the American Bar Association, participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic and published two scholarly articles. Mr. Waldman served as the Manuscripts Editor for the Richmond Journal of Law & Technology, the first law journal published exclusively online.

Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Waldman commenced his legal career as an associate attorney with a law firm located in Fairfax, Virginia. In 2000 Mr. Waldman relocated his practice to Spotsylvania and began to focus his practice on Individual Services.

In 2005 Mr. Waldman formed his own law firm, Waldman & Associate, PLLC serving individuals in the Fredericksburg Area. In December 2011, Waldman & Associates, PLLC and Jarrell & Hicks, PC merged to create Jarrell, Hicks & Waldman, PC.. Now a member of Dance & Waldman, PLLC, Mr. Waldman has represented hundreds of clients in the Fredericksburg area. He has served his community as a Member and Chairman of the Architectural Review Board of the City of Fredericksburg, as a member of the Board of of Zoning Appeals of the City of Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Fredericksburg Program, and has served both the Fredericksburg Area Bar Association and Virginia State Bar in leadership positions.
